Privacy and cookie choices

Reading the website

Our guides do not require an account or payment. This site has no comment system, newsletter signup, checkout or contact form. Following a link to a merchant or a social network takes you to a separate service with its own privacy practices.

Hosting and delivery

The site uses Hostinger for hosting and Cloudflare for delivery and security. Requests necessarily provide network and request information such as an IP address, requested URL, browser information and time. These providers may process operational logs and security identifiers to deliver the site, prevent abuse and diagnose problems. Their retention and processing depend on the service and its configuration; this notice does not claim a fixed deletion period for provider logs.

See Hostinger’s privacy policy and Cloudflare’s privacy policy. A browser analytics choice does not disable the network processing needed to deliver a page or security measures applied by those providers.

Guide search and game finder

The guide search and game finder filter the published catalogue in your browser without an external search service. We do not save search history in browser storage. Search terms, platform filters and comparison choices appear in the page URL so you can bookmark or share a result; loading or sharing that URL can include those parameters in hosting or delivery logs. Optional Analytics page views strip the query string and fragment, and these features send no search-term events.

Optional Google Analytics

Google Analytics is off until you choose “Allow analytics” or return with an unexpired saved permission. “Keep analytics off” leaves reading and store links available. The “Privacy choices” button in the footer lets you change the choice on any page. With JavaScript disabled, optional analytics does not load.

With permission, Google Analytics measures page visits and clicks on marked store links. Store-click events include the game, merchant, platform, link type, page placement and destination hostname. They do not mean that an order was placed. Our configuration removes the query string and fragment from the page URL sent to Analytics and sends only the referring site’s origin. It disables Google Signals and advertising personalisation signals. Google also receives technical information needed to process a permitted Analytics request; we do not describe the data as anonymous.

Analytics can use first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_… to distinguish visits. We configure a 180-day cookie lifetime; browser settings can shorten it. The local preference majinken-analytics-choice-v1 records only your on/off choice and expiry in browser local storage for up to 180 days. It is not a login or advertising identifier. If browser storage is unavailable, the selection applies to the current page and may need to be made again on the next page.

Turning analytics off disables further site Analytics events, clears this site’s accessible _ga cookies, and reloads a page if the Analytics library was already loaded. It does not delete data Google already received. Clearing local storage resets the saved choice. Another tab updates its choice when the browser reports a storage change.

Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s privacy policy. Account-level Analytics retention settings are separate from browser-cookie expiry; contact us for a question about retained site data rather than assuming the browser choice deletes past records.

Retailer links and PC-game promotions

Some marked links are affiliate links. Clicking one can send you through Admitad or another retailer’s tracking service before reaching a store, and those services may use cookies or other identifiers under their own policies. The desktop PC-game promotion cards use local text and do not request tracking-banner images when you merely read this website. Choosing analytics off does not change what an external service does after you follow its link.

Google advertising

Google AdSense ads are not currently served by this website. If advertising is introduced, an updated notice will identify the providers and the choices available to visitors.

Google and other third-party advertising vendors can use cookies to serve ads based on earlier visits to this and other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalise ads using those visits. You can manage Google’s personalised advertising in My Ad Center and learn about other participating vendors’ choices at AboutAds.

Your Analytics choice does not grant permission for personalised advertising. If ads are introduced for visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, separate advertising privacy choices will be provided through the applicable consent service.

Requests and changes

For a privacy question or request, use Contact Majinken!. Do not post account details or sensitive documents publicly. Browser controls can remove locally stored cookies and choices. We may update this notice when the services or data practices change; the date above identifies this version.
